My name is Keegan Casidy, a mortgage broker in North Vancouver, BC, with The Mortgage Group.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
I started young as an entrepreneur at around the age of twelve, selling golf balls on the side of the road. I was even featured on CBC’s ‘The National.’ However, it wasn’t until several years later and post-secondary education at Handsworth Secondary, that I decided to pursue a career that was business related.
Having excelled in a sales role with Vivint, then later as a territory manager with Acklands Grainger, I then decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps as a mortgage broker.
I have been a mortgage broker for two years and I work with my clients to find the best rate and product available in the market, across all the banks, credit unions, and monoline lenders. In nearly all scenarios my services are free for the client.
Meeting clients for the first time, the gratefulness they show for my assistance with owning their new home, and the messages of appreciation from happy clients, are what drives me to keep pushing myself.
Every work day is different, my phone is on 24/7. In the mornings call clients to ask for or receive documents, send the documents to lenders for sign off, speak to or meet referral sources as well as new and existing clients. On most days, I have a meeting or phone call with a lender representative to learn about the new products and promotions.
Finding the best lender for my client’s, receiving a commitment prior to clients removing subjects, and ensuring that all conditions have been satisfied prior to completion are the top objectives day to day.
I have been able to achieve success through constant growth and development in the mortgage industry. My interpersonal communication, organizational skills and dependable nature have also played a key role in this success.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my BCIT professors who have helped me grow into the person I am. They helped or rather forced me to be more comfortable speaking and presenting to other people. It was this confidence that allowed me to be in the career I am today, as well as excel at previous jobs.
While I am really proud of what I do, I am amazed by Tesla and Space X. Elon Musk has a great mind and such a passion for what he does, he and his team are constantly innovating and advancing technology.
When I am not at work, I enjoy fly fishing and exploring our beautiful province.
I am also passionate about volunteering. I sit on the board for a volunteer organization, the North Shore Stream Keepers. Together we work to enhance and restore the creeks and waterways on the North Shore. With the goal of restoring salmon populations, while making the trails/areas surrounding the watersheds more enjoyable for the public.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my honesty, integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
